The evolution of multi-story (level) building design is intrinsically linked to advancements in materials technology. This research investigates the application and impact of innovative materials on the structural performance, construction efficiency, and sustainability of modern vertical structures. The study provides a comprehensive analysis of key material categories, including High-Strength and Ultra-High Performance Concrete (UHPC), advanced steel alloys, Fiber-Reinforced Polymer (FRP) composites, and emerging sustainable materials like Cross-Laminated Timber (CLT). The analysis focuses on how these advanced materials facilitate greater design flexibility, such as longer spans and reduced structural member sizes, while offering superior strength-to-weight ratios. Furthermore, the role of functional materials in improving energy efficiency, fire resistance, and long-term durability is examined. This paper concludes that the strategic selection and implementation of advanced materials technology are fundamental drivers for creating safer, more resilient, and environmentally responsible multi-level buildings.
